COMPOSIZIONE BREVE
Composizione breve - Man Ray à la montagne
Objects of interest in this research are the wooden organ pipes of the organ builder Mottironi from Cortenedolo (1700). They are long vertical steles, pyramids, and parallelepipeds, very slender. They remind me of the Roman circuses, the obelisks, and the elements that mark the landscape as if they described the distance between things. I have thought a lot about the difference between seeing and knowing, that is, how our perception of objects changes when we know what they use is for.
The objects are collected in the 'L Zuf Museum in Vione, in Valle Camonica. The museum has opened to the public in 1987, thanks to the idea of Maestro Dino Marino Tognali to collect, together with his pupils, agricultural and everyday objects of the past. The collection is located on the premises of the Elementary School of Vione, Brescia.
The project was carried out in collaboration with L’Zuf Museum in Vione and the Ca’Mon Centre in Monno with Alessandra Spranzi as part of Appena fuori dell’ordinario, curated by Elena Turetti and funded by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministry of Culture.
